KYC & document verification

Identity documents are read, cross-checked against each other and against your rules, and either pass or arrive on a compliance officer's desk with the exact mismatch named.

Who it is for

Fintech and compliance teams onboarding customers, where every application waits in a queue for a person to compare four documents field by field.

Short answer

A submitted document is read, its fields extracted, and cross-checked against the other documents in the file and against your rules — in 5–20 seconds instead of 5–15 minutes. Clean cases pass; anything that does not line up reaches a compliance officer with the specific mismatch named.

The problem

Onboarding is a queue, and the queue is where applicants change their minds.

01

Manual checking does not scale with signups

Five to fifteen minutes per applicant is fine at twenty a day and impossible at two hundred. Growth turns compliance into the bottleneck that decides how fast the business can grow.

02

The queue costs you the customer

Someone who signed up on impulse and waits two days for verification often does not come back. The drop-off happens after they were already convinced, which is the most expensive place to lose anyone.

03

Tired eyes miss the mismatch

The eightieth document of the day gets less attention than the first. Transposed digits, an expiry that passed last month, a name spelled two ways — the errors that matter are exactly the ones fatigue hides.

How it works

From trigger to result, step by step.

01

Read the document as submitted

Passports, ID cards, driving licences, utility bills and company registration extracts — photographed at an angle, in poor light, in several languages and alphabets, including transliterated names.

02

Check the document against itself

Machine-readable zone against the printed fields, checksums, expiry dates, format rules per issuing country. A document that contradicts itself is caught before anything else is considered.

03

Cross-check the whole file

Name, date of birth and address compared across every document and against what the applicant typed. Transliteration differences and married names are handled as the normal cases they are, not as fraud.

04

Apply your rules, not generic ones

Your accepted document types, jurisdictions, age and residency requirements, sanctions and PEP screening where you use it. Your risk appetite is a configuration, and it stays yours.

05

Escalate with the reason, and log everything

Anything that does not pass reaches a compliance officer with the specific field, both values and the rule that failed. Every decision, automatic or human, is logged with its evidence for the regulator.

Honest limits

When this is not the right solution.

·This does not make the compliance decision. It reads, compares and flags — approving a customer stays with the person who is accountable for it, and no regulator accepts otherwise.
·If your rules are not written down, there is nothing to check against. Writing them out is part of the build, and it is often where the real gaps show up.
·We do not build this to be permissive. If your risk appetite is that borderline cases should pass quietly, we are the wrong partner — borderline cases are exactly what a human should see.

Questions we get about this one

No, and it should not. It removes the mechanical comparison — reading fields, matching names, checking expiries — so the officer spends their time on judgement calls instead of transcription. The approval decision and the accountability for it stay with a person.

Bring us the process that hurts.

The mini-audit is free: we take your version of this process apart and tell you plainly whether automating it pays. If it does, you get a scope and a fixed price.
